A technical search practice founded by Simon Hammelburger in 2003. Hard-to-find engineers and managers reached purely by networking among passive candidates — and introduced only when the match is real.
Our real skill is matchmaking: understanding what the company needs and what would actually move the engineer, then bringing them together when — and only when — there is a clear match.
Understand what is missing in person’s current role and find a more meaningful match at the right time. As opposed to simply “pushing” an open role on you without understanding what you really want. (that’s what other recruiters are good at)
We “get” things quickly on the technical specifications and also learn from you the culture fit and personalities that will make that “right candidate” before we go out on the search. Your problem is not in sourcing the candidates, it's in reaching them, that’s what we do much better than anyone else.
Not “a frontend developer” — a frontend expert with a designer’s eye who will fight for pixel-perfect. Not “an embedded engineer” — an embedded engineer who has already grown into architecting systems at scale. The brief is written to that level of precision, because that is the only way the search finds the right handful of people instead of a hundred near misses.
Twenty years of network means the approach usually arrives with a mutual name attached, pitched peer to peer — engineers talking to engineers, not a recruiter reading a spec back.
Both sides hear about each other at the same time. A short list you can actually read, each name explained — no pipeline to screen, no volume submissions.
Cross-sector by design. The common thread is difficulty — multidisciplinary roles where hardware, software, algorithms and infrastructure meet, plus the leadership above them.
